When Bob Hill and Ruthie drive down the street, it causes quite a stir. Heads are sure to turn at the sight of the old '29 Ford decorated with hillbilly paraphernalia and humorous hand painted signs and 'Hillbilly Bob' proudly taking the wheel.

Bob Hill, a Global University student has taken advantage of an incredible ministry opportunity. A former carnival entertainer, Bob now visits the same locations with a new message. Instead of gimmicks and jokes, the focus of his presentation is the amazing transformation that has taken place in his life through Jesus. It is now his passion to take his story to any who will listen.

Many years of nominal Christianity and hypocrisy left Bob feeling empty, guilty and lost. A life of alcohol, women, fast cars and parties never satisfied even though life looked good from the outside. He had a positive family background, a devoted wife and children and church even played a strong role in his life. However, acting religious simply left a hole inside. He didn't know Jesus.

God had a destiny for this simple farmer from Iowa. Health problems forced Bob to give up farming and take on a new career. Becoming a professional hillbilly and travelling the States was a journey that did more than put miles on old Ruthie's engine. The next nine years was a time of discovering Christ through numerous divine encounters. God put many people in his path at fairs, rodeos, Wal-Marts, and finally at Brownsville Florida where he gave his life to Jesus.

Bob, in his hillbilly hat and denim overalls stands next to Ruthie to deliver a strong, yet simple gospel message. Saving Ruthie from the scrap yard and restoring her engine to perfect working order is reflected in the life of this man who openly admits he was on a road to destruction. Receiving Christ set him on a path of life and restoration that he loves to share with others. Bob explained, "A whole new street ministry has opened up for me. I found there are so many hurting people out there that I'm able to witness to and minister to. I have a ministry working with carnival workers, and supplying them with Bibles. I give my testimony at many churches all across the United States." Recognizing God's divine purpose for his life, Bob passionately explains the gift of salvation to those who are lost, and sincerely encourages believers to seek after Jesus with all their heart.
