Time is Life

Feature Stories

After studying Global University’s course, Old Testament Literature: His Story, Nathan Ammon of Missouri was invited to speak to a group of 6th through 12th graders.

If you were to speak to a group of teens, what topic would you choose? Something upbeat? cool? dramatic? This was the question that Nathan faced.

God directed Nathan to challenge the youth regarding time: what is time, and how do we use time? Perhaps some of us might not consider this a fitting topic for the age group he would be addressing, but when God is leading, the topic He designates will always be pertinent.

Ministry in Word and Deed

Feature Stories

The mission of Global University serves as an objective and purpose motivating all who serve the institution: Impacting eternity by winning the lost and training the found…Everywhere.

As a result of this mission, many courses encourage students to participate in ministry in order to practice the concepts being studied. It is exciting to see how God utilizes these students in ministry to make a spiritual impact on the world around them.

One Global University student, Michael, discovered his orientation to ministry while taking a Berean School of the Bible course: Acts: The Holy Spirit at Work in Believers.

Around that time, Michael had been spending a lot of hours in prayer about how God would have him minister to his community. Michael lives in a small town in Virginia, comprised of about 600 people. The majority of people make a living from trade jobs or farming the land.

Getting Up After the Fall

Feature Stories

By KELLY BEVILL
From the PENTECOSTAL EVANGEL, Sept. 27, 2009. Used with permission

In the middle of January 1991, while doing construction work in Westchester County, N.Y., Paul Mead fell 30 feet from an icy rooftop onto the frozen ground. His heel bones shattered upon impact, followed by almost every bone in his ankles and legs. His physical injuries were just the first results of a much deeper fall.

Blood blisters and swelling from his ankles to his waist prevented surgery for three weeks. Operating too early could lead to infection. For nearly two years Mead used a wheelchair while he endured multiple surgeries and physical therapy relearning to walk.

An avid athlete before the accident, Mead had a difficult time adjusting to limited mobility. While in the wheelchair, he dreamed of the days when he played basketball, soccer and softball. He fell into a deep depression.

Citizens of Two Worlds

Feature Stories

Where is your citizenship?

After studying the Global University course, “The Work of the Pastor,” Riter, a student in Kenya wrote, “We are citizens of two worlds.”

Sharing the message in her home church, Riter explained the dual citizenship of every believer and how that translates into every day living. Upon accepting Christ as Savior, the believer is changed and so is the way he relates to those around him. Riter’s message emphasized that while believers reside in and are citizens of this physical world, its systems no longer govern them. Believers also belong to the Kingdom of God, ruled by the Sovereign Christ our Lord.
