Rescued from Satanists

Feature Stories

When Global University representatives in the Philippines told us about the testimony of a young woman named Andrea (her real name is not being used) we knew that her story had to be told. With time and the Lord's help, we were able to locate and interview her. What she shared with us was remarkable. She was a religious person, but never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a youth she attended Bible studies in which THE GREAT QUESTIONS OF LIFE was used. Later, she wanted to pursue a career in religious service, so she went to live with her aunt. However, her ambitions were shattered when she was abducted by a group of Satanists. It was then that she discovered the saving, redemptive power of God.

"Bible Study Lady" Helps Prisoners find Answers

Feature Stories

It's another Wednesday, and the doors to McPherson State Correctional Facility in Newport, Arkansas, open as the "Bible Study Lady" confidently enters carrying a bundle of books. When the doors close with a loud clang, she barely notices. She proceeds down a concrete corridor to the room where her library cart awaits her. She deposits the books in the cart and wheels it out.

She walks up the entryway to one of the pods, steps inside, and announces to every prisoner within earshot, "Bible studies!" Instantly, she is greeted by a group of prisoners who crowd around her cart, eager to see which study materials she's brought this week.

Bob Hill, a Global University student has taken advantage of an incredible ministry opportunity. A former carnival entertainer, Bob now visits the same locations with a new message. Instead of gimmicks and jokes, the focus of his presentation is the amazing transformation that has taken place in his life through Jesus. It is now his passion to take his story to any who will listen.

Many years of nominal Christianity and hypocrisy left Bob feeling empty, guilty and lost. A life of alcohol, women, fast cars and parties never satisfied even though life looked good from the outside. He had a positive family background, a devoted wife and children and church even played a strong role in his life. However, acting religious simply left a hole inside. He didn't know Jesus.
