MASTER’S COMMISSION STUDENTS FROM JAMES RIVER ASSEMBLY EXPERIENCED A REPEAT OF ACTS 2:41 AS OVER 3000 DECISIONS FOR CHRIST WERE MADE THROUGH THEIR MINISTRY IN APRIL 2007.
In March of 2007, forty one young people enrolled in Global University’s course of Acts through the Master’s Commission Program at James River Assembly in Ozark, Missouri. They completed the course in February 2008 and were sent to different locations to make a practical ministry application of the principles from the course.
Twenty one of these students traveled to Nicaragua for six days on a mission’s assignment. They chose the city Managua to put their recently acquired knowledge and skill into practical ministry. They used music, skits, and dances to attract people to the place of their outreach. The students worked as a team with different parts of the outdoor program. The last portion of the program was dedicated to a time for students to share their personal testimonies of their faith in Christ. The total number of recipients for the forty-four opportunities to minister was nine thousand three hundred forty-five during this short time. The results were over three thousand who made decisions for Christ, twelve people who were miraculously healed, and sixty-three who were baptized in the Holy Spirit. The powerful dynamic of the Holy Spirit was manifested through the lives of these students who had equipped themselves through studying with Global University.

Miraculous healing of cancer from the ministry of GU students working in a country with restricted access.
Two GU students used their study of The Gospel of John to teach a lesson in a “house church” in a nation where the Church doesn’t have the liberty enjoyed in Western cultures.
The students developed their lesson from the course, particularly the miracles mentioned in John’s Gospel. They presented their message in a service where a woman in attendance had stomach cancer. An invitation was given at the close of the lesson for those in attendance to accept Christ as Lord. The woman who was sick responded to receive Christ, and then received prayer for healing for her stomach cancer.

Global University students are creative in ministry applications of their courses. Who would have thought of portraying King David of Israel from the course on Old Testament Literature as “Davey the Outlaw” in a drama? Garrett Edgerton, a new student with Global University, produced a six-part drama based on David’s life and presented it to a group of “at risk” inner city boys and girls in New Jersey. The youths’ ages ranged from 7 to 14.
Garrett was inspired to write the drama as a ministry application for his Old Testament course. He wrote, directed, and acted in the drama. He chose the biblical account of David’s flight into the wilderness from King Saul. The drama portrayed David’s trust in God, his mercy towards Saul by sparing his life, and his consistency in honoring God and King Saul as God’s anointed.
