When David Chol Deng, Global University student in Kenya, completed the course, A Strategy for Church Growth, he shared a vision with his home church. Inspired by what he had learned, he spoke about geographical growth, church planting, and evangelism.
Accepting the challenge he gave, this church became a base for enacting a plan that would see David’s vision become reality.
The challenge began with fasting and prayer. David then set a two part goal: to win the lost and to establish a new church in a specific geographical location.
To fulfill part one of his goal, to win the lost, David planned an Evangelistic Crusade. He chose and prepared tracts to be distributed.
In order to reach part two of his goal, to establish a church, David formed a small team of people. With drawings and charts, he emphasized the principles of the Indigenous Church. He clearly showed the Biblical concept that a church must be established and grow as a self supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating entity.
