Where is your citizenship?
After studying the Global University course, “The Work of the Pastor,” Riter, a student in Kenya wrote, “We are citizens of two worlds.”
Sharing the message in her home church, Riter explained the dual citizenship of every believer and how that translates into every day living. Upon accepting Christ as Savior, the believer is changed and so is the way he relates to those around him. Riter’s message emphasized that while believers reside in and are citizens of this physical world, its systems no longer govern them. Believers also belong to the Kingdom of God, ruled by the Sovereign Christ our Lord.
During Riter’s presentation, she showed three ways in which believers have been chosen to represent the Kingdom of God on earth. Believers are to be ambassadors, walking in obedience, living in Christ, preaching the Gospel, and carrying out the Great Commission. Believers are to be light, powerful, apparent, and victorious. Believers are also to be salt to season, preserve, and stabilize the world with the Gospel.
The truth of the believer’s citizenship took root in Riter’s heart and she had to share it. As Riter spoke, the Holy Spirit was at work, convicting people of sin and drawing them to Himself. When she preached to this congregation of about 120, the Holy Spirit drew three people to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Because of Riter’s studies with Global University, these three Kenyans were accorded dual citizenship in the Kingdom of God.
Where is your citizenship? Has Truth compelled you to live as a representative of the Kingdom of God while you reside in this physical world? Riter wrote in her report, “I realize that we are all workmen with Christ together….” Are you working with other believers for Christ?
For all of you who have given and prayed for Global University, along with Riter and these three converts, we say a heartfelt thank you.
Perhaps you have never considered participating in the Great Commission through supporting the effective ministry of Global University. Thank you for prayerfully considering doing so today.
