2014 Programs of Study

Global University offers the following Graduate Programs:

Master of Arts Degrees (36 credits)

Global University's Master of Arts degree programs require students to complete 36 credits of 3-credit courses. Students may choose to write a 6-credit thesis in lieu of two 3-credit courses. A concentration requires 18 credits within the specified content area. Required core courses include one or more 3-credit courses that will apply to the content area for each degree plan option. Core courses should be taken prior to plan-specific courses. Plan-specific course options for each degree plan are listed in the current Graduate School of Theology Catalog. See course descriptions for additional choices for general electives.

Master of Divinity Degree (78 credits)

Global University's Master of Divinity degree program requires students to complete 90 credits of 3-credit courses. Students may choose to complete a 6-credit thesis in lieu of two 3-credit elective courses in a specific or general elective category. The thesis is strongly recommended for students who have not written a thesis as part of a Master of Arts degree program. Core courses should be taken prior to other required courses. Course options for each content category are listed in the current Graduate School of Theology Catalog. See course descriptions for additional choices for general electives.

Graduate Studies Certificates (18 credits)

Global University's Graduate Studies certificate programs require students to complete 18 credits of 3-credit courses. Students may choose courses based on the certificate discipline. All courses required for Graduate Studies certificate programs are available for enrollment in graduate degree programs and have the same academic requirements for both certificate and degree programs. A Graduate Studies certificate is not a degree nor a certification. It is the responsibility of the student to verify the applicability of Global University's credits toward his or her academic and professional goals. Certificate-specific course options for each certificate program are listed in the current Graduate School of Theology Catalog

Doctor of Ministry Degrees (30 credits beyond MDiv)

Global University's Doctor of Ministry degree programs require students to complete 30 credits of doctoral level studies beyond the Master of Divinity degree. Students are required to complete a dissertation project. The Doctor of Ministry degree program is available as of October 1, 2012.
