China Bible College Sees Surge In Enrollment

Springfield, MO— Since launching in October 2012 more than 12,000 students have enrolled in a China Bible College course online. The college, which is powered by Global University in collaboration with the Northern Asia Region of the Assemblies of God World Missions, now enrolls an average of 30 new students daily.

“This is one sign that China Bible College is meeting an urgent demand,” says Global University President Gary Seevers.  Although the house churches in China are numerous and motivated, according to Seevers, there is more need than ever to educate pastors and leaders. “False teachings are everywhere in China because many believers (who mean well) are not adequately trained in the Word. They desperately need to equip leaders for ministry.”

China Bible College is the only school of its kind in China and offers a total of 54 Global University discipleship and ministry courses for students via the Internet at just $1 per course. Global University has also opened the door to a fully accredited master’s degree to qualified Chinese students.

“Within a day of placing each new course online, students begin to enroll in it,” says Global University career missionary associate Larry Hall. “It’s obvious they are eagerly checking the China Bible College site daily, hungry for more Bible training, anticipating the help the courses will give them.”

“We are grateful to those who provide funding for China Bible College,” says Seevers. “It’s amazing to think that a Chinese believer can get quality, Pentecostal, Bible training for only $54. We expect that eventually our student body within China could reach 100,000.”
