Christian Life Missions Offers Students the Opportunity to Apply for the Walker Journalism Award

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri- Global University Undergraduate and Graduate students may apply for the Walker Journalism Award, presented by Christian Life Missions, the non-profit partner of Charisma media. This award is external to and distinct from Global University and students apply directly to the Walker Journalism Award selection committee.

This contest is open to any current undergraduate or graduate student in the United States. A $5,000 first-place journalism and Christian writing award recognizing excellence in presenting a Christian worldview will be awarded on June 30 in the form of a scholarship, along with a $2,500 second place and a $1,500 third place prize.

Writing entries must present a Christian worldview and must have been published in any media format – print, radio, television or online – within the 12 months preceding the submission deadline of May 15, 2014. A printed or recorded proof of publication is required. Entries will be judged on clarity of writing, excellence of thought and the impact of what was written. In addition, judges will give weight to the significance of the media platform used.

Students are NOT required to be journalism majors to enter this contest.
