Global University Study Group in North Dakota Partners with Church of God In Christ to Train Ministers

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri- Global University’s Study Group Network continues to expand its efforts to equip ministers for service. Recently, a Berean School of the Bible (BSB) study group based out of Valley Christian Center (VCC), Grand Forks, ND, partnered with several jurisdictions in the Church of God In Christ (COGIC) to train COGIC ministers.

Pastor Sam O’Donnell, Valley Christian Center Study Group Director, and COGIC Bishop Michael Cole met to discuss how the Assemblies of God and COGIC jurisdictions under his leadership could work together to offer training to local ministers. Bishop Cole reviewed BSB materials currently offered through VCC’s study group, and agreed that these resources would be ideal for ministry training for local COGIC leaders. To date, six COGIC students have enrolled through Valley Christian Center’s BSB study group, with additional student enrollments expected in the upcoming months.

Global University Vice Provost Dr. Randy Hedlun reflects, “This is an incredible partnership in which Church of God In Christ ministers will be equipped and resourced to pastor their congregations utilizing material from our Assemblies of God Berean School of the Bible program. These training materials transcend Fellowship ties to offer solid biblically-based teachings that can be of benefit to a wide range of Christian leaders. We look forward to additional partnership opportunities in the future as together we work to win people for the Kingdom.”

Global University’s Study Group Network allows students to learn with a nationally recognized educational program that encourages comprehensive Bible study through each of Global University’s four schools – School of Evangelism & Discipleship, Berean School of the Bible, Undergraduate School of Bible & Theology and Graduate School of Theology. Students share in stimulating and guided class discussion.
