SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Global University has launched a project geared towards the development of Native American and Alaskan church growth and planting.
Global’s Board of Directors will provide $30,000 in matching funds to better equip and grow churches on reservations and within the Native urban communities across the US. Dr. Gary Seevers, President of Global University, states, “With only 3% of Native Americans claiming Christianity, this presents a significant opportunity to impact eternity.” During the next year, two pilot groups with up to 15 students in each will participate. The result will create a model for future growth in Global’s Ethnic Ministries.
“Global University is anticipating a challenging and yet needed ministry amid America’s indigenous peoples. Nonetheless, the primary goal is helping churches move towards the indigenous church principles.” reflects Michael Johnson, Director of Ethnic Ministries.
